Bus Eligibility

In most school districts in the Hudson Valley, if you live within 15 miles of Hawk Meadow and your child is 5 or older by December 1 of the current year, he or she is guaranteed bus transportation by your home school district. The City of Poughkeepsie is an exception to this rule, as it provides no bussing.

All bus transportation forms are due to your home district by April 1 (five months before the start of the school year in which you want transportation to start). The transportation departments may not honor any requests after that date.

Please note that you should contact your home district’s transportation department individually to make sure the above is true for them, as they sometimes have different rules from district to district or year to year.
